- The Summary and Details tabs were combined
- You can retest a page without the page reloading
- The Details tab includes the AIM Score

The WAVE extension evaluates websites for common accessibility issues that can be found programmatically. And, was updated in October 2025.
The three main updates we’ll cover are:
- The Summary tab was combined with the Details tab.
- You can now retest a page without refreshing the page.
- And, each page shows the automated AIM score.
Summary and Details tab combined
Let’s start with the Summary and Details tab being combined. This removes the Summary tab, making it so you’re right in your data when you run WAVE. The Summary data still shows at the top of the Details tab.
Retest without refreshing
The next update is retesting a page without reloading the page. To retest a page, you select the WAVE extension icon to turn it off and then select it again to activate it. In the past, whenever you re-activated WAVE, it would reload the page too. Now, it evaluates the page again without reloading the page. This means you can make changes to the code using inspect and not lose them when you retest a page.
AIM Score
The last update is that the automated AIM Score was added to the Summary data. The automated AIM score is a formula that takes into account all the errors and alerts on the page and compares the result with the top million websites. So, a five out of ten would mean the page is average compared to other web pages. A zero would mean it does worse compared to other pages, and a ten would mean it does better compared to other pages. A complete AIM Score includes both an automated and manual testing score, but this automated score can be a good metric to gauge the current state and improvements.
