Use the Canvas Accessibility Instructor Dashboards

Pope Tech Course Dashboard

Canvas instructors have two types of dashboards.

  1. The course dashboards, which has accessibility data for each individual course.
  2. The My Dashboard, which has accessibility data for all courses an instructor has access to.

Each of these dashboard types has widgets to help see where accessibility issues are and take you right to where you can fix them.

In this article, you’ll learn how to access each of these dashboards and how to use their widgets:

Access individual dashboards

  1. In the global navigation, select Courses. Then, select a course.
  2. In the course navigation menu, select Pope Tech Accessibility

You’re now on that course’s dashboard.

Individual course dashboard widgets

There are three widgets on the individual course dashboard. Let’s go over each.

This widget shows the total errors and alerts in the course, the change in errors and alerts in the last 30 days, the total alerts and errors in each accessibility result category, and access to dismissed results.

  1. Select any of the accessibility result categories to view all the errors and alerts in the course related to that category.
  2. Select Details >> for the error or alert you want to focus on. This page has a list of all the content blocks in this course that have this issue.
  3. Select Open to go straight to the Canvas content with the Accessibility Guide open, so you can fix the issue. Or, select Details >> again to see a detailed view of the result.
