Use the Canvas Accessibility Instructor Dashboards

Canvas Accessibility Instructor Dashboard

Canvas instructors have two dashboards. The first is a dashboard for each individual course. The second is a dashboard for all courses you have access to.

Each of these has widgets to help you see where accessibility issues are and take you right to where you can fix them.

In this article, you’ll learn how to access each of these dashboards and how to use their widgets:

Access individual dashboards

  1. In the global navigation, select Courses. Then, select a course.
  2. In the courses navigation menu, select Accessibility

You’re now on the accessibility dashboard for that single course.

The overview widget tells you how many errors, contrast errors, and alerts are in the course. It will also show delta triangles and a number indicating if issues have increased or decreased.

  1. Select errors, contrast errors, or alerts. This will filter the Content Blocks widget at the bottom of the dashboard to only show the content blocks with those issues.
  2. Select the Details >> icon for the content block to see all the accessibility results for that content block, or select Edit to go straight to the Accessibility Guide to edit that content block.
