Use the Canvas Accessibility Admin Dashboard

Canvas Accessibility Admin Dashboard

The Admin Accessibility dashboard is made up of six widgets. In this article, you’ll learn about how to access the Admin dashboard and each of its widgets:


Access the Admin dashboard

  1. Log in to Canvas as an Admin
  2. In the global navigation, select Admin. Then, select the account.
  3. In the admin navigation menu, select Accessibility.

Results per course

Drill down by a specific error, alert, or feature in the Results per course widget.

  1. Select errors, alerts, or features.
  2. Optional: Filter by course.
  3. Select the Details >> icon for the specific error, alert, or feature.
  4. Optional: Check out the How to fix it documentation.
  5. Select the Details >> icon for the specific course.
  6. Select Content Block to go to the content in Canvas, Code to see the HTML code, or Dismiss to remove the result from reports.

Most common issues 

The most common issues widget shows the errors and alerts that happen the most.

  1. Select one of the most common errors or alerts.
  2. Optional: Check out the How to fix it documentation.
  3. Select the Details >> icon for the specific course.
  4. Select Content Block to go to the content in Canvas, Code to see the HTML code, or Dismiss to remove the result from reports.

Content types 

Review how many PDFs, YouTube videos, and Excel Sheets there are across all courses in the content types widget.

  1. Select the PDF, YouTube, or Excel Sheet content type.
  2. Optional: Check out the How to fix it documentation.
  3. Select the Details >> icon for the specific course.
  4. Select Content Block to go to the content in Canvas, Code to see the HTML code, or Dismiss to remove the result from reports.

Courses 

Courses is a list of all the courses in the Canvas instance. 

  1. Select the Details >> icon for the specific course to go to a page just for that course.
  2. From the course’s page, review how many errors and alerts there are, the most common issues, and each content block in the course.
  3. Select the Details >> icon for the content block to see all the accessibility results for that content block, or select Edit to go straight to the Accessibility Guide to edit that content block.

Issues by account

Issues by account is an in-product report that shows how many errors there are in each account and sub-account.

Issues over time

Issues over time is an in-product report that shows how the amount of errors, alerts, content blocks, and courses has changed over a day, week, month, quarter, or year. 

Set the filters at the top, and select Update.
